Emerging markets are gradually becoming highlights in the export of photovoltaic modules. From January to June 2025, the number of countries/regions where component exports achieved year-on-year growth reached as high as 115, among which the export growth rate to 51 countries exceeded 100%. Compared with 33 countries in 2024, the growth trend was significant. On July 25th, Wang Bohua, the honorary chairman of the China Photovoltaic Industry Association, shared the above data at the seminar on the review of the first half of the photovoltaic industry's development and the outlook for the second half of 2025, which was hosted by the association.

According to Wang Bohua, since 2022, emerging markets have maintained stable growth. In the second half of 2024, exports have repeatedly reached new highs, and the fluctuations in exports have been smaller than those in the European market. Its growth mainly comes from a large number of small-scale markets around the world, rather than from major developing countries such as Brazil and India. In the first half of 2025, China's photovoltaic module exports to Africa increased by 47.5% year-on-year, to Oceania by 23.7%, and to North America and Asia by 15% and 12.2% respectively.

Since the beginning of this year, several enterprises have announced plans to invest in emerging markets such as Africa.

In March this year, Xiamen state-owned enterprise Xiangyu Group disclosed that its subsidiary Xiangyu Logistics Group and Zhejiang Dingsen Holding Co., Ltd. jointly established Xiamen Xiangding New Energy Co., LTD. In the future, it will focus on the African new energy market, comprehensively layout the lithium battery and photovoltaic industrial chains, and continuously build a green industrial chain system.

In the first half of the year, the component exports of Europe, the Middle East and Latin America, which are traditional major markets, decreased by 12.3%, 14.9% and 16.8% respectively.
